Pébéo Siligum 100 g

Gédéo Siligum is a very popular product that both professionals and amateurs love. It's a very fast- setting, two-component silicone moulding compound that lets you create your own moulds. You can use it to mould small objects and flat decorations, and create your own silicone mould. You can then use these moulds to cast resin, plaster or candle wax.

  • Siligum is made up of two pastes to be mixed in equal proportions to achieve the reaction. Just a few millimetres thick is enough around the object to be moulded. It takes just 5 minutes to set. To pour Cristal resin afterwards, we recommend that you coat the mould with Vaseline beforehand.

How to use:

  • For easy and successful creations, first choose your decorative idea, then the Gédéo molding material and finally the method of attachment.
    • Choose a pattern (size and thickness) according to your decorative idea.
    • Set up in a dry, ventilated, and temperate area on a horizontal and level work surface.
    • Evaluate the total quantity of product to be poured by filling the chosen pattern with water and measuring in a cup.
    • Prepare the chosen product according to the user’s guide.
    • Pour the product into the clean and dry mold.
    • Allow to dry as per the time indicated in the guide (setting time varies with temperature).
    • Remove from mold.
    • Tips:
      • For precision plaster, resin plaster, and light plaster: When the plaster is very pasty (about 10 minutes), insert the fastener quickly and hold it in place for a few seconds.
      • For casting Gedeo resins: In still-liquid resin, use a hairpin or paper clip to suspend and hold the fastener.
      • To maintain your Gedeo mold: Wash in warm water without detergent or in a dishwasher.
      • For double-sided designs: Glue two symmetrical designs or place the hardened design on the filled mold and allow it to harden. Remove any excess product if needed.
    • Precautions:
      • Do not place Gedeo molding decorations near a flame.
      • Do not place on a hot plate.
      • Using a knife will damage the material.
  • Moulding Alginate
    • Attach the subject to be molded to the bottom of a glass with modeling clay, ensuring it doesn’t touch the sides.
    • In a container, pour one volume of alginate, then two volumes of water, mixing actively for one minute.
    • Pour over the object and wait 5-10 minutes until it sets like jelly.
    • Release the mold by sliding a knife between the glass wall and the mold, then remove the piece of clay and cut the mold lengthwise carefully.
    • Pierce the glass bottom, reassemble the mold in its casing, and pour plaster through the hole. Wait 30 minutes to dry before removing the alginate mold.
    • Tips:
      • Before using alginate powder, shake it in an airtight container to aerate and reduce lumps.
      • Tap the container on a table for 30 seconds to release bubbles.
      • Use hot water to accelerate setting or cold water to slow it down.
  • Siligum
    • Mold various objects with one part blue resin and one part white hardener, mixed for 30 seconds until light blue.
    • Flatten the mix on the object in a 3-4mm layer. Use plaster strips for large objects to form a support shell.
    • Working Time: 2-3 minutes
    • Demolding Time: 5 minutes at around 23°C. For more time, refrigerate pastes for 1 hour before mixing.
    • Use: The mold can be reused many times.
  • Vaseline for Mold Removal
    • Apply with a brush to ease demolding of Crystal Resin. It also protects eyelashes and eyebrows before face casting.
  • Latex
    • Coat brushes with dishwashing liquid before applying latex on the object.
    • Apply layers of latex, drying each for 10 minutes and reinforcing with gauze on the second layer.
    • Let dry for 6 hours, then make a plaster strip support shell. Remove once dried.
    • Pour plaster, Crystal Resin, or Gedeo reconstituted stone and dismantle the mold once dried.
