The new tire called Assegai was created in collaboration with Greg Minnaar, three-time world champion, three-time overall world cup winner and legend of the sport. When developing the new pattern, Greg Minnaar said, ''My vision was to create a tire that reflected the iconic designs of the Maxxis brand.'' The DHF has proven itself and provides confidence on hard surfaces, cornering, wet roots and rocks, while the DHR II has added speed and aggressive braking. More edges were added later to give the wheel better response under load and a consistent feel down to the side lugs. Minnaar also highlighted its popular High Roller tyre, where they developed with the experts at Maxxis elaborate side lugs with similar characteristics to the original, but with new support that is excellent when cornering on flat surfaces. In terms of technical features, the Assegai tire is equipped with EXO sidewall puncture protection, 3C tri-compound technology for minimal resistance and long tread life, optimized shape for use on rims with an internal width of 30-35 mm, 60TPI fiber density cord, tubeless ready and with a maximum recommended pressure of 50 PSI/3.5 bar.
